ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said on Thursday that the people of Pakistan were fully aware as to who indulges in the politics of anarchy and who works for the development of the people.
Addressing the parliamentary meeting of Pakistan Muslim League-N (PMLN), he said that they should be thankful that God Almighty had blessed the party so much in the recent elections. “Not only have we won convincing victories in Gilgit Baltistan, but we have also secured tremendous electoral wins in Azad Jammu Kashmir, local bodies elections as well as cantonment elections,” he said.
Nawaz said that when his government came in power in 2013, it had to cope with three major challenges which included reviving the economy, tackling the menace of terrorism and dealing with the energy crisis in the country.
PM Nawaz said that as compared to three years ago, Pakistan was doing much better now due to the improved economy of the country. “It is very happiness that I am announcing that we will bid farewell to the IMF program this year,” he said.
Nawaz also lashed out at former president Musharraf when he said that no electric projects had been set up in the nine years. He insisted that Musharraf and his supporters should be brought to the parliament and made to explain themselves as to why they didn’t undertake even a single energy project at that time?
Nawaz praised the efforts of Pakistan Army, police and the nation in bringing down terrorism and militancy in the country. He also expressed his happiness at the improved law and order circumstances of Karachi and said that investors were now coming back to the city.
