LAHORE – Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that ‘Saaf Pani’ project is directly linked with human health and implementation of this project would ensure basic right to the citizens.
“Saaf Pani (clean drinking water) is a public welfare project and the government is spending billions of rupees to complete it for benefiting citizens of the area,” he said.
Addressing a meeting through video link at Civil Secretariat here on Wednesday, he reviewed various matters regarding the project. He said millions of people living in rural areas would enjoy the clean drinking water facility after completion of the project.
He said no compromise would the made on the standard of this project. He said job opportunities would be made available to local people due to setting up of facilitation centers in rural areas for supply of potable water.
Provincial Minister for Housing Tanveer Aslam Malik, Saaf Pani Company Chairman Muhammad Kashif, Chief Secretary, Planning & Development, Chairman Qamarul Islam, Saaf Pani Company chief executive officer and concerned officers also attended the meeting.
