ISLAMABAD: National Assembly Standing Committee on Housing and Works on Tuesday directed the Federal Government Employees Housing Foundation (FGEHF) to place lists of allottees in sector F-14 and F-15 on the FGEHF website to ensure transparency in the allotment process. The committee also directed perpetual action against encroachments and non-conforming use of residential and commercial properties in sectors under its administrative control. The committee met under the chairmanship of Haji Muhammad Akram Ansari, MNA in Parliament House, Islamabad this morning.
The Standing Committee, while discussing the progress on preparation and finalisation of lists of membership in Housing projects in Sectors F.14 & F-15 Islamabad, directed the Housing Foundation to ensure transparency by displaying lists as per laid down criteria and quotas for various categories of employees of federal government, constitutional bodies and media etc on the website of the Housing Foundation. The Committee further directed that the development process for handing over the possession of the plots be expedited.
The Representative of FGEHF apprised the Committee that as a result of the membership drive, more than 79,000 federal government employees have been registered as members since April, 2015 to May, 2016. However as per instructions of the Committee, lists for allotment of plot of sector F-14 & F-15 have been prepared and consent letters have been issued to members in categories 1 to 3. The FGEHF Representative further apprised that land acquisition processes with the District Collector were also being pursued.
While discussing the actions against encroachers in Sector G-13 and G-14 by FGEHF Enforcement Directorate, the Committee expressed its dissatisfaction on the progress and directed FGEHF for perpetual action against encroachers and non-conformers. The Committee also expressed dissatisfaction on the progress of the Masjid Committee for retrieval of land encroached or illegally occupied for mosques in both the sectors. The committee directed for keeping it posted with the progress of the Masjid Committee on monthly basis.
The Committee constituted a 4-member Sub-Committee under the convenership of Mr. Rajab Ali Khan Baloch, MNA to probe into the allotments to Estate Officers and Deputy Secretary (Estate), M/o Housing made in contravention of Rules, failure of Estate office to retrieve government accommodations illegally occupied by encroachers, trespassers and retired government employees. The Sub-Committee had been directed to complete the task within thirty days. The meeting was attended by MNAs; Mr. Rajab Ali Khan Baloch, Rana Zahid Hussain Khan, Mr. Nasir Iqbal Bosal, Ms. Tahira Aurangzeb, Ms. Khalida Mansoor, Ms. Nighat Parveen Mir, Mr. Imran Zafar Leghari, Mr. Iqbal Muhammad Ali Khan, Molana Ameer Zaman, Secretary M/o Housing and Works and other officers of the concerned departments.
