KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Monday reserved its decision regarding the famed super model Ayyan Ali’s constitutional petition seeking removal of her name from exit control list (ECL).
The hearing of the case was conducted before a division bench headed by Justice Ahmed Ali M Shaikh. The counsel for the petitioner Sardar Latif Khosa argued that despite court’s orders name of his client has not been removed from ECL. While the Additional Attorney General of Pakistan Salman Talib-ud-Din argued Ayyan Ali’s affidavit was not attached with this constitutional petition so he could not argue on this case. After hearing the arguments the court reserved its verdict which would soon be announced.
Khosa said that the bureaucracy is acting as personal employees of the ruling party in the center. Court has ordered many times to remove Ayyan Ali’s name from the ECL but the officials had ignored court’s orders. He said that the Supreme Court had asked his client
Ayyan Ali approached SHC against government’s decision to place her name on ECL. Khosa said that Ayyan could not go abroad and due to this delay she has received a notice of fine amounting 1 million rupees as fine of not participating in the assignments that she had agreed before.
